Location

Bluebell Cottage is in a peaceful location surrounded by open countryside and woodland. Situated in the grounds of the Old Vicarage at Little Walsingham, it is one of four that have been lovingly restored by an award winning developer.

Pilgrims have made the journey to Walsingham from all over Britain - and the world - since the 11th century, not long after the Lady Richeld is had her vision of Our Lady in 1061 and built a replica of the Holy House in Nazareth. Henry VIII ordered the Shrine to be destroyed in 1538 as part of the English Reformation and it was not until 1922 that the then Vicar of Walsingham decided to undertake the restoration of the Shrine. Once more, Walsingham is England's national shrine and thousands of pilgrims visit every year.

The Streets of Walsingham have fine medieval timber-framed jetted buildings along with later Georgian buildings. The village has a post office, small supermarket, café and the renowned Farm Shop complex along with the award winning “Norfolk Riddle” restaurant and adjoining fish and chip shop. You can also visit the longest narrow gauge steam railway in the world which runs from Walsingham to Wells-next-the-Sea.

The nearby towns of Blakeney, Wells-next-the-Sea, Holt and Burnham Market are within easy striking distance whether you are looking for outstanding beaches to stroll for miles or a quality shopping experience.
